Meri Kirihimete from Brightly!
Before we close the laptops on 2023, we’re taking a pause to reflect on another year of growth for Brightly. And while we undoubtedly measure success through business growth, it’s equally important to us to acknowledge the wider impact of working together.
Environmental, social, and political events of 2023 have shown us that now, more than ever, is the time for businesses to recognise the imperative of being a force for good by looking beyond traditional metrics.
We're happy to say that this year we have achieved an increase in the financial donations, pro-bono time, and discounts provided to our impart partners, and over and above that we are seeing movements like B Corp gaining critical mass and enabling wider collaboration amongst businesses in Aotearoa.
Our year in numbers:
731kg of ewaste recycled
$26,104 donated in services to nonprofit organisations
$19,110 in charitable donations
We're working closely with other B Corps as both clients and suppliers, and the benefits of working together are clear to see. Through our Toitū climate positive certification we are continuing to raise the bar on climate commitments and it was great to have progress like this reflected in our increased B Corp recertification score.
Technology continues to move quickly, and with cyber security and AI front of mind for a lot of organisations we have been grateful to be able to support you in adapting to these changes. Our new partnership with Onwardly brings another set of tools to help with security governance and compliance and we're excited to be working with Phil and the team.
Thank you all for your support this year. It is through our partnerships with likeminded organisations that we have been able to grow while staying true to our values and increasing our impact, and we're truly grateful.
Our team will be taking a well earned break over the holidays from 22 December to 7 January, with a core team working through to provide on-call cover for customers covered under a support plan. We’re back to business as usual on 8 January 2024.
We hope you have a wonderful summer break and see you all in the New Year.
